PT Suri Tani Pemuka (STP), a subsidiary of PT Japfa Comfeed Indonesia Tbk (JAPFA), continues to showcase its unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability through initiatives focused on green aquaculture practices. On November 14, 2023, STP took a significant step by planting 200 coral reef seedlings at Tanjung Budaya Beach, Pemuteran, Bali. This initiative goes beyond a mere symbolic gesture; it represents a concrete action toward protecting marine ecosystems and promoting environmentally responsible aquaculture.

In addition to planting coral reefs, STP planted 500 mangrove seedlings the previous day at Pejarakan Beach, Singaraja, Bali. These activities are integral to the Water Conservation Program that STP has actively pursued throughout 2023. This program highlights STP's dedication to managing aquaculture in a way that upholds industry standards and reflects a deep concern for green environmental practices. By prioritizing the preservation of marine ecosystems, STP aims to mitigate the negative impacts of aquaculture, ensuring the protection of coastal and aquatic environments.

Emiliana Dhian Anggeraheni, Head of Operations Shrimp Hatchery at STP, emphasized that planting coral reefs is vital in maintaining water quality and preserving marine ecosystems. "We firmly believe safeguarding marine ecosystems and water quality is central to sustainable aquaculture. Every coral reef and mangrove seedling we plant is a testament to our commitment to making a tangible, positive impact on both the environment and the communities around us," Emiliana stated confidently.

STP also engaged the local community in these green conservation efforts by donating mangrove and coral reef seedlings to the Environmental Task Force (Satgas Lingkungan) of Pemuteran Village. This collaboration underscores the importance of a collective approach to environmental preservation, especially in coastal areas. It demonstrates that aquaculture companies and local communities must work together to protect and restore the balance of our ecosystems. Through this synergy, STP aims to reduce carbon emissions and raise awareness about the critical need to maintain the health of coastal environments.

The Water Conservation Program launched by STP is a clear example of their dedication to implementing green aquaculture that prioritizes production and environmental conservation. Following the thriving coral reef and mangrove planting in Bali, STP plans to extend this mission by planting 1,000 mangrove seedlings in Situbondo, East Java, on November 15, 2023.

Emiliana hoped STP's efforts would inspire other aquaculture companies to join in preserving the environment. "We aim to demonstrate that the aquaculture industry can be a key player in green environmental stewardship. Every small step we take is intended to make a significant impact towards a greener, more sustainable future for our planet," Emiliana concluded with enthusiasm.

Through these tangible actions, STP is planting coral reefs and mangroves and hopes for a better, more sustainable future. They are proving that the aquaculture industry can be part of the solution to preserving our environment, ensuring that every aspect of aquaculture practices contributes positively to marine ecosystems and the communities that depend on them.
